Santorini & the Greek Islands: A 5-Day Itinerary
June 29, 2026 · 1 min read
Whitewashed villages, caldera sunsets, and blue water — Santorini is the postcard, and five days lets you slow down and enjoy it.
Day 1 — Fira & the caldera
Settle in and walk the caldera path from Fira, with views over the cliffs and the sea.
Day 2 — Oia & the sunset
Explore Oia's blue domes and stay for its world-famous sunset (arrive early for a spot).
Day 3 — Beaches
The volcanic Red Beach and Perissa's black sand, plus a seaside taverna lunch.
Day 4 — Wine & villages
Santorini's volcanic wineries and the quieter inland villages of Pyrgos and Megalochori.
Day 5 — Boat trip or a second island
A catamaran around the caldera and hot springs, or a ferry to nearby Naxos or Ios.
Budget note
Mid-range, around €130–220 per person per day; peak summer is pricier. Book sunset-view hotels early.
Pack for Santorini
- Comfortable sandals with grip — the caldera towns are all steps and uneven stone
- Reef-safe sunscreen — and a proper sun hat — the Aegean sun is stronger than it looks
- A dry bag — for boat trips and beach days
- A European plug adapter (Type C/F) — for charging everything overnight
