7 Days in Bali: Temples, Rice Terraces, and Beaches
June 29, 2026 · 1 min read
Bali blends spiritual calm with tropical adventure. A week lets you experience both the lush interior and the beachy south.
Days 1–3 — Ubud & the interior
Base in Ubud: the Tegalalang rice terraces, the Sacred Monkey Forest, jungle waterfalls like Tegenungan, and a sunrise hike up Mount Batur.
Day 4 — Temples
The clifftop Uluwatu Temple at sunset with its kecak fire dance, and the sea temple of Tanah Lot.
Days 5–7 — The southern beaches
Surf and sunsets in Canggu and Seminyak, or the calmer sands of the Bukit Peninsula. Add a day trip to the Nusa Islands for snorkeling.
Budget note
Bali is excellent value — plan $40–90 per person per day mid-range. Hire a private driver for day trips; it's cheap and easy.
Pack for Bali
- Reef-safe sunscreen — some Bali beaches and marine areas expect it, and it's better for you either way
- A sarong — for temple visits, where shoulders and knees need to be covered
- A dry bag — for waterfall hikes and beach days
- A local eSIM — Bali's local SIM kiosks are a hassle you can skip entirely
